it's true. We all have lots of responsibilities, causing us to wear lots of different hats. But, my dear emma has taken that saying just a bit too far. You see, recently, she has discovered that inside her closet, there is a drawer full of winter and summer hats. She can spend hours filtering through the drawer, picking out hats, trying them on, putting them back, passing them out to different people in the house for them to wear, giving them to mantha, putting them on dora...truly, this occupies a significant portion of her day.
My sister, katie, commented a few days ago how my children were destined to follow in thier aunt's footsteps and become a diva, and I think she may have prophesied correctly! Emma loves clothes, hats, anything new! Yesterday, we were going through our bags of new clothes to take to Thailand, and she excitedly picked up every peice of clothing. Each peice had its own comment:
"ooooh!"
"wow, momma!"
"so pretty...flowers on it..."
"aaaah!"
"nice!"
It was quite a funny little show. Then, after looking through the stack - TWICE - she decided she wanted to try them on. She looked at me, and said "Emma wear it." So we put on a pink flowerdy dress. She then said, "Take a picture!" So we had a mini-fashion show while she tried on a new polka-dot swimsuit (though not a polka-dot bikini!), dresses, dora pants, cute skirts...she'll be styling when we hit the beach!
Here are some pictures of my hat diva:
